Net Orbit network monitoring software gives a supervisor or administrator the tools they need to monitor and filter employee or student computer activity. Net Orbit gives you the Online Control Panel where multiple devices can be monitored in one place. The Network Monitoring section has two different type of features. The first type is that of Live Monitoring. Certain functions can be performed live to instantly "check-up" on a user. The second type of monitoring is Logged Monitoring, which is specific activity that can be viewed when you are ready.



1)LIVE Monitoring


Net Orbit allows you to check-in one, some or all users at once. This shows you whether they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. These features allow you to effectively watch all users' actions in real time.

View the current screens of multiple computers in a single window.


The View Live Screen features lets you see the current screens of multiple devices at a time. The area for each live screen displays the device's user name, its operating system, online/offline status, and the date/time of the current screen. You also get shutdown/restart/logoff buttons for each screen so you can quickly deal with unapproved behavior.

2) Logged Monitoring

 

Once install onto each computer that you own and have proper consent to monitor, it immediately begins to log activities. Activities such as websites visited, apps used, chat/IM and much more are logged. View the logs when you are ready with your own Online Control Panel. Net Orbit can handle a large network of Windows and Mac computers with one account.

 
When an administrator wants to view the activity of a client PC, they login to their all-in-one Online Control Panel. This allows them to view all of the activity logs for all monitored computers.
 
Logs can be exported for storage in PDF, CSV, XLS and TXT files. Logs can be printed from within the panel and can copied and then pasted into an email. See below for a complete list of what Net Orbit monitors:

Screenshots of your monitored computers are logged at intervals you choose.


The Screenshot Logs feature lets you view a group of screenshots logged over a period of time. Settings let you adjust the frequency and quality of the screenshots. The screenshots can view viewed in the Online Control Panel and they can be downloaded.

The Applications Used Logs show what applications were used by which users. You will see the start date/time, end date/time, username, title, and duration.

Net Orbit logs web sites visited in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and other popular browsers.


Each URL visited will be logged, along with the username, timestamp and the title of the page visited. URLs can be launched from within the logs viewer and can also be blocked. The administrator can navigate logs according to specific dates and also export all logs to PDF, XLS, CSV and TXT files.

The Chat / IM logging feature monitors Gtalk, Yahoo IM, Skype IM, ICQ and Paltalk. You get timestamp, username, title and the full content of the chat.

Get alerts about blocked event occurrences, you can have different alert settings for each monitored device.


The Notifications feature will display a log of events on your monitored computers if the user tries to access a blocked website or start a blocked application.
